Online Safety Bill passes through Parliament – with more amendments

The much-scrutinised Online Safety Bill has finally ascended to the House of Lords after being passed through the Commons, albeit with yet more amendments.

The bill dates back to the 2019 General Election – when it was put forward by then-Prime Minister Boris Johnson in his manifesto. In the intervening years it has undergone a great many changes and even come close to being scrapped altogether.

Disruption continues following Royal Mail cyber attack

Royal Mail is working to mitigate the impact after falling victim to a cyber attack thought to have links with Russia.

Service was disrupted earlier this month when a cyber attack disrupted the computer systems Royal Mail uses to send parcels abroad. Though the company has remained tight-lipped on the nature of the attack, many reports put it down to Lockbit – a ransomware program developed and used by criminal gangs with links to Russia.
